Draper, Utah

Draper Old Town Master Plan is an attempted to create a small simple commercial retail development with the scale, materials and approach that is reminiscent of the existing pioneer and brick structures present in this part of old Draper. Located next to the pioneer cemetery, the center of old Draper and an historical pioneer home, we deferred to these structures and created a series of volumes that would act as a background to these memories and physical structures. We were given an approximate square footage need and parking requirements to meet city ordinances and provided a complex that would reflect the internal needs as well as outdoor activities for the various shops that would lease from these buildings. Because of the weather, and views of the area, outdoor uses of the shops were greatly encouraged. The plan called for a centering and reflection to the center park of Old Draper.
