Responding to a couple to remodel and ad an addition to existing house, we proposed to solve many of their programmatic requirements by starting completely new yet using the footing and the footings of the existing house and re-establish another direction. The interesting part for Pollard architects was using an existing footprint and dealing with edges and boundaries as an abstraction to a new environment. It was spatial and performative as well as material and constructive way to procedure. Single line abstraction plays an important part in our delivery. Within the interior, private and public spaces are clearly distinguished.
