Upstate New York

This modest retreat is located on a small lake in upstate New York. The client wanted an emphasized dialogue between the retreat house and the lake; they also wanted to be able to walk easily from the house to go swimming. The composition is a simple line in the landscape that ties the earth, sky and water in a single gesture.
