Southern Utah Univ. Science Building
Ceder City, Utah
The concept of this 65,000 square foot building is based on several features. The first is a clearly defined circulation system forming an “L” configuration. The second is that the faculty offices have direct access to labs and teaching, as well as secluded views. The third feature is that lab and teaching areas are on the outer perimeter in order to make full use of daylight. Finally, by terminating the campus mall, the building reconciles issues that are larger than the original program and creates an enclosure for this portion of the campus.
